OFMD (and friends) Craft Fair!
Hello friends!Looking for information about the #OFMDCraftFair? You're in the right place!VISIT THE AUCTION!Here’s the basic rundown of the project:This is a fundraiser for the Campaign for Southern Equality's Trans Youth Emergency Fund. It's a hybrid sale and auction, with items available both for bidding and purchase. While it began in the Our Flag Means Death fandom, it's spread beyond that and is full of a huge variety of queer and/or pirate themed crafts!Rather than collecting money ourselves, we're asking folks to donate directly to the organization via this form! We will be working with them to verify donations, so no need for screenshots. We are running the auction on 32auctions—link above! For more info, find me at ofmdcraftfair at gmail or @ghostalservice on bsky!
FAQs:Who’s running this thing?Lis/ghostalservice is behind this, with an incredibly amazing background team of veeagainst, adhduck, xoxoemynn, stedezissou, and archem! Why the Campaign for Southern Equality? We love their work because they focus specifically on queer folks who have to fight against the structures of the areas they’re in—and because their work stretches across all levels of activism, from advocacy at a policy level down to grants to individual trans kids and their families. How does the money work?Using the 32auctions platform, bidders commit to certain amounts of donation for each item. Once the auction is finished, each bidder will receive a totaled amount of their pledged donation and it’s their job to make it to the organization, with their bidder number in the "in honor" field. Then CfSE will confirm each donation to us, and we'll get you your stuff! The money goes straight from you to the organization—no passing though us.What’s the timeline for the fundraiser? The items will be available for through March 1!Can I still donate my craft items? We are closed to new crafters now that we're in the last week of the fundraiser! How are you handling shipping costs?Lis is happy to take donations to the shipping fund via ko-fi—most item donors will cover reasonable shipping costs to buyers, but any international shipping or expensive shipping (over $15, or folks with special circumstances) we will split the shipping fund for reimbursement. Also, for folks donating multiple items, they have the option to ship to Lis instead and she’ll send them out! Especially for folks buying multiple items, this should help reduce costs. If buyers want to help cover shipping costs, we will remind them about the shipping fund after the auctions close, or they can reach out to the folks who donated their items directly!I have more questions!Great! Shoot us an email at [email protected]!Here's a little peek at a few of the items and commissions available:
